Neighbor Referral Reward
Receive a $5 credit toward your next service after a referred neighbor in the Lake Las Vegas resort community completes their first paid service.
Neighbor Referral Rewards have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may be applied only toward future Desert Paws & Wellness LLC services. Rewards are earned only after the qualifying referral service has been completed and are not applied retroactively to services already paid for.
Complimentary Meet & Greet
A complimentary Meet & Greet is required for all new clients. We will review your pet's personality, routine, feeding, medications, supplies, home access and necessary forms.
Multiple & Mixed-Pet Households
There is no additional fee solely based on the number of pets in the household.
Mixed dog-and-cat household care will be discussed during the Meet & Greet and an appropriate service arrangement will be determined based on the pets' needs and requested care.
The selected visit length must allow enough time to provide the accepted care safely and completely. I may require a longer visit or different service arrangement based on the number of pets, their needs and the requested tasks.
House Extras
When requested and accepted, routine house extras such as bringing in mail, managing garbage or recycling, adjusting indoor lights or window coverings, and watering indoor plants may be completed during scheduled pet care. Your pet's care always comes first. These extras are included when they can be completed within the reserved service time: if additional time is needed, a longer service may be required.
Extraordinary Pet Cleanup
If a pet has an accident in the home, I will provide reasonable basic cleanup to pick up and dispose of feces and absorb or contain urine or vomit, and care for a soiled pet or crate when needed. I do not provide cleaning of home furnishings, carpets, upholstery, specialty surfaces, or stain or odor treatment.
Additional time required is billed at the Additional Time Rate.
Additional Time Rate
Additional time provided for extraordinary pet cleanup or other circumstances is billed at $40 per hour in 15-minute increments:
15 minutes: $10
30 minutes: $20
45 minutes: $30
60 minutes: $40
Key Pickup or Return
A separate trip by Desert Paws to pick up or return a client key is $10 per trip.
Payment
Payment is due when I arrive for the first scheduled service. If you will not be home, please leave payment at the home for me to collect.
Cancellations
I understand that plans change and do not charge a cancellation fee. Please provide as much notice as reasonably possible. Repeated or significant last-minute cancellations may result in limits on advance booking or future extended reservations.
Holidays
A 25% holiday surcharge applies to services provided on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
What You Should Know
Hello, I'm Tracy, owner of Desert Paws & Wellness LLC. I relocated from Washington State to Henderson in 2022 in search of a little more sunshine and a better quality of life. I'm very happy to call this community home.
My professional life has always centered around caring for others. I became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 1994, an Esthetician later in my career, and a Registered Nurse in 2004. Although I am now retired from the nursing profession, those years of caring for people shaped the way I approach everything I do: with compassion, attentiveness, responsibility, and respect for each individual's needs.
Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with cats and dogs and was an American Kennel Club junior handler, showing my Silky Terriers when I was young. Over the years, I've shared my home with purebred and mixed-breed dogs as well as many cats, and I've come to believe strongly in rescue and giving animals in need a safe and loving home. I currently share my home with two rescued cats. Tabby, 7, came to live with me after my father passed away, and Felice, 14, is a feral cat who has taught me a great deal about patience, trust, and respecting each animal on their own terms.
When I decided to establish Desert Paws & Wellness LLC, I wanted to build a professional pet-sitting service founded on trust, accountability, and responsible business practices. Desert Paws & Wellness LLC is properly licensed by the State of Nevada and the City of Henderson, holds the required Animal Handler Permit, and is bonded and insured through Business Insurers of the Carolinas. I am also a member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS).
The "Wellness" in Desert Paws & Wellness LLC reflects both my professional background and a philosophy I've carried throughout my life, caring mindfully for people and animals and recognizing that compassion, trust, routine, and individual attention matter. Today Desert Paws & Wellness LLC is devoted exclusively to providing personalized, dependable care for the pets of my Lake Las Vegas neighbors — in the place they feel safest and happiest: their home.
